In this article they are talking about the General that is in complete control over the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, General Patraeus, is stepping down and handing his command over to another person. The new General is now Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno. He was second in command for the past year and a half in Iraq. In order for this to happen, General Patraeus, Secretary of Defense Gates, and Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno had a ceremony in Baghdad in order to hand over command.
Analysis:
The events of this can be good or bad for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan. Depending on Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno style of fighting a war, the war can go in our favor or turn against us. As a nation we have to believe that Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno will make the right decisions on how to save troops lives on the front lines, as well as civilian lives. As for the rest of the world, we hope that the war will end sooner rather then later and Lieutenant-General Raymond Odierno can win the war and get all of our troops home safely.
